Kitchen Island#makeitinmarch21

I have just finished this lockdown project.
The design was largely driven by my wife who decided she wanted to replace the kitchen table with a large island that was slightly different to the main stream.
Initially, resistant to the idea of a resin river top etc, I now have to admit I quite like the end result.
All frames, doors & drawer fronts I made from Tulipwood using traditional mortice & tenon joinery. The remainder is solid European Oak staves for the top, shelf slats and Birch plywood carcass and drawer interiors.
All hand painted by the wife.
