Just had a look at this machine at the showroom and have left a little confused.
There is a lock at the back to lock the left to right movement on the bed. However, there does not seem to be a lock for front to back travel.
The bolts underneath to the left and right of the bed seem only to be to take any slop out of the bed and make sure that the dovetail keyways are held nice and snug.
Have I missed something?
If anyone has used this machine, does it stay exactly where it’s put, front to back without a lock?
If I’m cutting a load of matching mortises in hard timber like oak, the last thing I want to happen is the measurement from the back of the chisel to the fence to drift as I work.
Can anyone throw any light on this?
