Axminster 16-32 sander

After about six months being idle due house move I dusted the machine off and removed the conveyer and cleaned it and the metal platen. All clean and rebuilt but the conveyor drive will not turn even with the tension very slack. Is there a separate fuse for the conveyor motor? Main drum spins on NVR START but the small motor is dead. Is it easy to remove the drive link?

I bought the Laguna 16-32 sander from Axminster in January 2025.

Within the first week, after about 45 minutes of cautious exploratory use, the table drive stopped working. Long story short, Axminster eventually swapped the machine. I believe there was a fault with the controlling circuit board which had to be replaced. I got the impression other people had the same problem.

Perhaps you’ve got the problem sorted by now?

Interesting, sander still sitting forlorn and neglected. Couple of years too old to blame Axminster, but might be worth a phone call if I can’t source a board elsewhere. There are other look alike as you know so there must be common parts too..

Consider Axminster part SS005440, which replaces the circuit board, speed controller and housing for a Laguna 16-32 sander. Perhaps talk it through with Axminster’s Tech Support first
