Hi, picked up a Axminster Hobby ASWL which needs new belt.
Note lathe differs from manual and identification plate in that is has M33 thread on drive spindle.
It has bearing front and rear of spindle and has sat unused for quite a white.
I have the belt and instructions, below, but am having issues knocking spindle forward so as to put new belt on.
I have given a good clout, by no movement, am I missing something?
Thanks
Instructions I have.
Slacken and remove the drive belt.
Unscrew the Allen grub screw part No 24 in the middle of the head stock pulley.
Unscrew the two Allen grub screw part No 26 in the head stock hand wheel.
Unscrew the hand wheel part No 22 off the shaft (THIS IS A LEFT HAND THREAD.)
Tap the main spindle out with a soft mallet towards the centre of the lathe.
Remove the old belt and re-fit the new one. Make sure you keep the pulley the right way around.
Re-assemble in the reverse of how it was dismantled
