Evening folks. Just joined and wanted to get information about the suggested best router to create dado slots for a cabinet project I am about to start. The search function mentioned table saws and table routers. I don’t have these tools, and want to use a router. What would cope with cutting dado slots and is not to challenging to set up and use.

I’d use a router and straight edge of some sort clamped to the job. If you’re new to routing, try a few test cuts using appropriate extraction and a mask, taking off a few shallower cuts rather than one deep one.
