David Charlesworth, very sad news

To some this name won’t mean anything but to others of us it will and especially to me as David Charlesworth is, or rather sadly was, my woodworking hero and guru.

Well known the world over as a master craftsman David Charlesworth was an author of many carpentry books and had been a professional cabinet maker since 1973. He also ran courses at his Harton Manor Workshop teaching furniture making and hand tool skills to an exceedingly high level, one of which I had the absolute pleasure and honour to attend. It was, without a doubt the best and most enjoyable woodworking course (5 days) I have ever been on and it took my hand tools skills to a new level.

R.I.P. DAVID, YOU WILL BE GREATLY MISSED

The passing of any master craftsman is a deeply saddening thing.
For me it is made tragic by any lack of disciples…
RIP…:sleepy:

Very sorry to hear that. He seemed like a really nice gentleman. I saw him on youtube demonstrating the ‘Charlesworth ruler trick’ which improved my planing no end.
