My new Axminster mounting jaws have come with a safety screw on number 4.
I’m okay with fitting the new Jaws to the scroll, but when and how does the safer screw fit in?

Hi there, I had exactly the same question when I started woodturning about five years ago. I assume you have removed the safety screw to fit the fourth jaw carrier, now close the carriers up to the centre and turn the chuck over look down the centre of the chuck and you will see the ends of the four carriers and the screw hole in number 4. Using the supplied Allen key screw the safety screw back into the screw hole in no 4 carrier. This stops the jaws from coming out by overturning the chuck key by accident.
