Perform ccbb bandsaw

Hi Everyone , just bought my perform ccbb bandsaw and yes it needs parts in the blade guide area . Am I right in thinking they are the same parts as the Axminster AWBS . Part numbers are same . Does anyone know where I can get the parts needed.

Basically need I’d say all upper and lower cast assembly and new bearings all round . Thanks

Axminster sell them, try phoning them

Unfortunately they no longer make the parts

There are a number of different designs, I think they were on Ebay, may require a little rework, but I am sure they could be adapted to fit. Alternatively a small engineering company might undertake to make them.

Thanks all, will look into it

Crucially your main frame appears undamaged. When my top clamp broke I made a simple one out of wood but when my top frame broke because it dropped and hit the table top when I was servicing it the right bearing guide broke off. But then I did manage to get a complete new top bearing guide from Axminster Tools for £24 in 2017.

You might be able to do something similar with yours replacing the broken clamps with some plywood or even make some new ones out of some (20x10x200) stock aluminium because your frame seems to be OK. You may get away with drilling and tapping the holes to take the bolt because stock aluminium is far stronger than cast. Alternatively you could fit helicoil inserts which would be far stronger.

As to your bearings you could try cleaning them in a small watchmaker’s ultrasonic cleaner and then re-lubricate them with some thin oil.

Thanks Patrick,
Yes think I’m going to resort to making my own ……completely, using small steel box section ……think it will actually be better than the cast one.
